Celebrating Community Spirit: Colonial Youth and Family Services' 45th Annual Golf Outing
On a sun-drenched day at Swan Lake Country Club, the community came together for the 45th annual golf outing hosted by Colonial Youth and Family Services. This year’s event, which honored Suffolk County Executive Ed Romaine and Brookhaven Town Supervisor Dan Panico, surpassed expectations by raising over $25,000 in support of the nonprofit’s essential family services in Brookhaven.
The picturesque backdrop of Swan Lake Country Club provided the perfect setting for a day filled with camaraderie and goodwill. Over 100 golfers enthusiastically participated, teeing off and putting their skills to the test, all in the spirit of giving back to their community. Beyond the greens, the event resonated as a testament to the community’s steadfast dedication to supporting an organization that has been a pillar for families in need.
Excitement peaked with a lively raffle offering coveted prizes such as VIP concert tickets and luxurious stays at Mohegan Sun. The atmosphere buzzed with anticipation as participants eagerly awaited the raffle draws, adding an extra layer of festivity to an already joyous occasion.
A standout moment of the day was the generous contributions made to Colonial Youth and Family Services. PSE&G’s presentation of a $5,000 check underscored their ongoing commitment to community welfare. Furthermore, the Town of Brookhaven’s substantial donation of over $20,000 reaffirmed local government support for vital services that enrich the lives of residents.
Colonial Youth and Family Services stands as a beacon of hope, offering a wide array of programs designed to strengthen and uplift families in Brookhaven. The funds raised during the golf outing will play a crucial role in sustaining and expanding these critical initiatives, ensuring that essential resources continue to reach those who need them most.
Pete Costelloe President of Colonial Youth & Family Services said, “This event truly exemplifies the power of community spirit and collaboration,” remarked a representative from Colonial Youth and Family Services. The generosity and camaraderie displayed today are deeply touching and will have a profound impact on our ability to serve the families of Brookhaven.”
As the day drew to a close, participants departed with more than just memories of a day on the course; they carried with them a renewed sense of community solidarity and a shared commitment to making a difference. The 45th annual golf outing transcended its role as a fundraiser; it became a celebration of unity and the enduring influence of giving back.
