​​​Nicholas J. Taylor
President
Nicholas J. Taylor is a seasoned education professional based in Moriches, NY, with extensive experience in special education, instructional leadership, and technology integration. Holding advanced degrees from Stony Brook University, Dowling College, and Saint Joseph’s College, Nick is certified in NYS SBL/SDL, Students with Disabilities 7-12, and Social Studies 7-12. He has served in various roles, including Special Education Teacher and Chairperson in several school districts, where he led professional development, supervised educational staff, and managed CSE and 504 committees. Currently, Nick is a Special Education Teacher at East Hampton School District, where he also coaches middle school baseball and junior varsity girls basketball. His dedication to fostering student success and enhancing educational programs through innovative practices underscores his commitment to the field.

​Kenneth Olivo
Vice President
Kenneth Olivo has been a dedicated resident of the tri-hamlet area since 1975. A retiree from the NYS Office of Mental Health and former Trustee of the Village of Mastic Beach, he has been deeply involved in community service for over four decades. Kenneth has organized the Christmas parade for 36 years, led the Bi-Centennial Parade and festival, and helped transition the community to SCWA water supply. He was instrumental in establishing the Mastic Shirley Community Library and has actively contributed to the Kiwanis, Lions, Rotary, St. Jude's Church, and Yumas Little League Baseball. He also organized the Tri-Hamlet Community Day and served on the Long Island Federation of Labor Executive Board. Currently, Kenneth serves on the boards of Colonial Youth and Family Services, Mastic Beach Chamber of Commerce, South Bay Civic, and James V. Kavanaugh Columbian Club, and is a founding member of the Mastic Shirley Moriches Community Library Friends of the Arts.

Mr. Rick Wiedersum
Board Member
Mr. Wiedersum has worked on a wide range of diversified K-12 and higher education projects, including the Health and Wellness Center at SUNY-Suffolk (Riverhead), the modernization and renovation at Farmingdale State College and was the Principal-in-Charge of various projects at Nassau County Community College. He graduated from New York Institute of Technology and currently is a registered architect at H2M. He serves as Director of the CYFS board, having joined in May 2020.

Tara C. Dunn
Secretary
Tara Dunn is a dedicated nurse with a focus on pediatric and underprivileged populations. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Stony Brook University, graduating magna cum laude, and is currently applying to their Master’s Program for Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with a subspecialty in Pediatrics. Tara has extensive experience in both clinical and administrative roles, including serving as a Nurse Manager and House Supervisor at Eastern Long Island Hospital. With over two decades of nursing experience, she is skilled in behavioral health, crisis prevention, and patient care coordination. Tara is also a member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association.

Board Member
Kathleen is a dedicated and experienced healthcare professional from Shirley, NY, with a strong commitment to giving back to the community she grew up in. With over a decade of experience as a telemetry technician at Northwell Plainview Hospital and Stony Brook Medicine, she has extensive expertise in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and patient care. In addition to her hospital work, Kathleen has served as an EMT and Critical Care provider for several local fire departments and the Shirley Community Ambulance, providing life-saving care in high-pressure situations. She has also contributed to community-focused initiatives through her work with Branches of Long Island, supporting families in need. Kathleen brings compassion, technical skill, and a passion for service to every role she takes on.

Mr. William K. Miller
Director Emeritus
William K. Miller is a retired commercial banker. He is currently working with children at the Town of Brookhaven Safety Town.
Bill has been an active member of Colonial Youth for well over ten years. Bill is currently Vice President of Eastern Suffolk BOCES, serving as Chairman of the BOCES Legislative Committee. He had also served on the Board of the Longwood Central School district for 24 years. He is past President and current member of the Central Brookhaven Lions Club.
